Donegal County Council

Donegal County Council is one of Irelands local government authorities and is responsible for local government in County Donegal, Ireland. It delivers a diverse range of public services including: community development and planning services, roads and transportation, economic development and emergency services, housing, corporate & cultural services, water and environment. The Council has 37 elected Members (or Councillors) and the current Cathaoirleach is Cllr. Liam Blaney. The Chief Executive is Mr. John G. McLaughlin. The Regeneration & Development Team Operating within the Planning Services Division of the Council, the Regeneration & Development was established by the Chief Executive of Donegal County Council in January 2019. The Team is a multi-disciplinary resource led by Planning Officers and consisting of Architects, Planners, Engineers, Technicians & Administration. The purpose of the Team is to attract investments from the range of funding programmes available to develop high quality Urban and Rural settlements which contribute to Regeneration, Compact Growth and Economic Development. Our Key Goals are:
  • To implement transformational placemaking
  • To improve environmental condition and accessibility, creating public
  • To create desirable places to live, work, rest and play
  • To create safe, inclusive and welcoming town and village environments
  • To support growth and diversification in the tourism and economic development sectors creating new employment opportunities
  • To reduce vacancy and dereliction through the re-use, restoration and adaptation of existing building stock
  • To enable, engage and empower local communities to lead in the regeneration and renewal of their towns and villages
Performance & Delivery To date the Urban & Rural work programme of the Regeneration & Development Team has been successful in securing over €70m in project development and capital funding for 14 regeneration projects across County Donegal.

Creeslough Community Association (CCA)

Creeslough Community Association (CCA) is a voluntary association. Its goal is to promote the local community and the people, organisations and business within the locality. With a focus on village regeneration, it facilitates investment from a number of organisations into community programmes across the village and its environs. CCA has a decade of experience enabling successful partnerships between businesses and communities.
